Hope is dimming for volunteers working to find missing teen Keiosha Felix, who disappeared from her aunt's Duson home nine months ago without a trace.
Keiosha Felix was reported missing on April 30th of last year. Police initially believed she was a run-away child, but investigations later changed the case to a missing person.
Several arrests were made early on in the case. Keiosha's aunt and cousin were facing obstruction of justice charges, but later released. Ronald Wilkerson, the aunt's boyfriend, was arrested on second-degree kidnapping and simple rape. Those charges were also dropped. A fourth person, Leon Wilkerson, Ronald's brother was arrested for kidnapping but also released.
The mother and grandfather of missing teen Keiosha Felix spoke publicly Wednesday for the first time since the girl vanished a year ago this month, tearfully pleading for anyone with information about her disappearance to contact authorities.
An emotional gathering of about 40 community volunteers, family and friends held a candlelight vigil at Girard Park Tuesday to mark the one-year anniversary since the disappearance of Keiosha Felix, a 15-year-old Lafayette girl who disappeared from her aunt's home in Duson last year.
