I listened to the show today, but I had a few interruptions so I didn't hear everything. I took notes in Word while I was listening. I am not familar with all the names of players on the roster, so excuse any incorrect names.I tried to find a roster but with ragincajuns.com being down, I must admit, I didn't try that hard. (It's Friday...I'm tired ) I'm not the best at this, but can I get an A for effort?
~Concerns about inexperience
~Maurice Barksdale out for season surgery on wrist, possible Med redshirt but graduates in May
~Signed 8 freshman
~Sat down with admin at end of last season discussed APR concerns- must have 2.0 to be considered eligible but LA allows you to play in high school with 1.5 GPA
~Have lost two kids to the APR rules, possibly a third
~Going to run traditional offense as well as four guard offense wait to see where advantage lies; couple different packages; 60% four guard offense
~Will be a much better shooting team this year
~Ross Mouton- needs to step up and become more rounded player; expected to start
~Adam- went to camp in Las Vegas this summer to improve; expected to start
~V. Hart- does whatever is asked of him; expected to start
~Avery Milson- inside player with most ability; defends well; capable of scoring
~Courtney Wallace- most aggressive player; worried about him getting into foul trouble; reminds Lee of Cedric, but doesn’t have moves yet
~Rhett Hebert- solid, pleased with pre-season workouts
~Derek Grays- big in plans, committed to team; may prove to be a good defensive player
~David Dees- transfer; injury missed some conditioning;
~Elijah Milsaps extremely athletic; not a great shooter yet but expects to contribute heavily
~Tyron Johnson- 6’7”; good outside shooter;
~Willie Lego- fast; good shooter; expected to compete for point guard position
~Some dude called in and hammered Lee on Marquee Cook and Southall (Ed note: Let it go, already!); Lee says they agreed to give him a chance, but Cook chose not to meet expectations
~Admitted to being a young, inexperienced team, asked for patience from fans
~Invited fans to practice to see team
Good job Kate.
Daigle,Forest and the kid from Houston via Archbishop Hannan are ineligble but in school on their own dime. Gary is out because of surgery and academics. Will use a lot of 4 guard sets.
Does anyone know robert lee's middle name? if its edward I'm gonna crack up..
I'm expecting the same type of progression that the football team is having. After a couple of years of development and continued solid recruiting of coachable and physically able atheletes, Coach Lee will have a solid base. It looks like he's recruiting a team that will be applying a lot of pressure defense and fast breaks (very guard oriented). I'd like to know if that is by design or because of a lack of centers. I don't know jack about these new guys, but I'm going to trust that Coach Lee know's what to do when it comes to a team full of diaper dandies. It doesn't look like we'll be seeing anymore transferred blue chippers. Just my thoughts. I'll be at all the games and some of the practices hoping for the best. Good luck coach.
I think recruiting center is a lot like o and d linemen in football...big guys r just very hard to find and the ones that are out there get scooped up by the big boys.Originally Posted by Tripple Threat
