Thread: Rookie Report: Ladarius Green - Chargers

Default Is it just me or is LG heading to practice squad?

I have watched 2 charger pre-season games. LG played most of the 2nd half in the last one. He got open a couple of times but was not the target. His one pass attempt he either dropped in the end zone or it was batted out of his hands. He did a good job on his blocking assignments as best that I can tell from the tv. I don't think he is on special teams as I didn't see him on the field. My thought is that with the depth of the Chargers at TE and the fact that he only plays in the back half of the game make believe that he is bound for some teams practice squad. Am I missing something?

If the Chargers place him on practice squad, some other team that needs a TE will snatch him up quick. He might not have the biggest impact this year, but I doubt they would do that.

He would never clear waivers, they won't do that

There were a few articles this week about him coming on very strong. They threw to him in the end zone last night but the throw was behind him and defended well. He played ST some. Still plenty of time to show something in preseason, but his catches aren't the only thing he'll get judged on. Pretty sure he will make the 53

They are probably saving him for the games that count.

You could be right, too stacked at tight end, and so they make sure he gets as little of what he excels in as possible. Not seen catching balls, not likely pulled from practice squad.

I know some Chargers fans are worried about this situation since Ryan Mathews went down with that broken shoulder. Some were saying they may keep more RBs on the roster and keep less TEs. This, of course, affects LG as he seems to be the last TE that they would keep active. But all reports point to Mathews being ready by Week 1 so LG is probably on the 53 man roster.
