Amen. And how about this for a positive, this was the first time since 1972 the Cajuns pitched a road shut out.

The last time? McNeese St. (Cajuns won 10-0 at the Chuck).

I'm glad that this new company is sponsoring the first downs. However, who is the new sponsor. When Jay says, and there's another {insert sponsor} first down. My head hurts. The new sponsors name doesn't really roll off the tongue in that sentence. I think it's a flower company. Also why doesn't papa johns do the first down anymore. Did they pull out?
    Spedale's Florist.

It just doesn't sound right. But I hope they paid a premium for it.

Turbine--I understand that he's such a threat that he's serving a purpose even when he's not getting the ball...but one can only be a successful decoy for so long without getting the ball. And I'm not trying to "stir up some stuff," as I really am just happy about the win (but thanks for the support Jim, I appreciate it.) But just like everyone else who's posted on this link, I think that MD is way too talented to waste. I know that Babb has a better arm than Mike right now, but Leak has a better arm than Tebow and Fla. uses both of them...I think that MD could come in as a guy who really changes the tempo of the game some, and keep the D on their toes.

    Just a thought. Geaux Cajuns!

I think the coaches feel the same way. It is pretty rare to put an experienced backup QB on the field at multiple positions. With our spread offense, and Babb's ability to run, we risk needing MD as a QB. There is as much argument to keep him off the field as put him on the field.

With our situation (talent, but always in need of improvement) we cannot afford to leave MD on the sideline. We need him on the field. However, there are a lot of multi-purpose athletes out there that were superstars in highschool, but are not going to start ahead of position talent.

If MD took a hit that even slightly winged him, we would be forced to limit our options with Babb. As I totally agree with wanting to see MD on the field, because he will contribute, I am reluctant to say that the coaches are ignorant. I think they are proceeding with enthusiastic caution.

OK, guys. Here's a little math lesson.

We have 5 offensive players that I consider 'game breakers': Fenroy, Wallace, Smith, Chery and Desormeaux.

    We play with one football.

Several somebodies aren't going to get the number of touches they need to get to be really effective.

    It's just not possible.

We can argue about who's not getting touches all we want, but we can't change the math.

Not better... more relaxed. Plus, the benefits of aging are taking away my memory. I had to remind myself that we WON, and began to forget how, who, where... and the W became all the more impressive. It's pretty cool to go look at he record and say "4-2"... excellent! I just hope to hear at the end of this season... "and their only losses came at LSU and TAM".

Increase the options and you increase "positive touches". Every play gets a touch. We need a touch that makes a difference. I think the comment was to just mix MD into the offense a little more. If Reggie Bush were sitting on our sidelines it might be easier to understand the question. I think nicajun and olemiss are asking a valid question. The answer is not THAT simple. I do respect your point, but NC A&T had as many "touches" as we did.

That is a fact. But, Houston overlooked us and FAU did not. FAU viewed us as the most important game of their season. They couldn't get their offense on a roll until that last series, but their defense was up for every play we had. Thank goodness our defense was also up to task.

also i think fau has the best defense for our offense b/c they are not very big but they are very fast. Also, a few times jerry just misread the play which won't happen often. A few times if jerry would have kept itinstead of handing off it could have been 15-20 yard gains. We got the W i'm pumped, we got our bad game out of the way. Besides this could come as a head check to the players that they have to play very well if they want to win out. Also, we had alot of penalties which is very un-Bustle. We will be fine, this team has overcome alot and will continue to do so. To think we will just blow everyone out in the sunbelt is rediculous, the confrence is just too close talent wise. Before last year we didn't know how to win on the road, we played bad and still won. I'll take it everyday of the week.

We are going to run an average of 65-70 offensive plays per game. They will be broken down about 2/1 rush/pass. Wallace/Fenroy will usually have about 30 of the runs, with the other 15 runs spread around among Babb, Johnson, Roberson, etc.

Of 25 passes, we will complete 15 on a pretty good day. These are going to be divided among 7 or 8 people, so on average Desormeaux, Chery and Smith will get about 2 each.

This is not necessarily a bad thing. For one, if we are in a 4 receiver set with Chery, Des, Smith and Frederick, who are you going to double up on? Which of these guys will get a strong safety or a linebacker? What are you going to do to cover Fenroy or Wallace on the swing route?
