    Default FAU scouting report

First off i think this is a big game for the Cajuns and it needs to be a showcase for us on national tv. I hope the coaches are using the embarressing loss last year against them as motivation to go out and set and example to the rest of the conference.

Ok now FAU will come at you with a pro style offense and use the run game to set up everything they do. A lot of play action and watching them against ULM they like to take shots down field. They will also use 2 QB's but the starter will Jr. Sean Clayton who is a transfer form Michigan State. The backup is RS Fr. Rusty Smith but like I said he will get playing time at some time during the game. Also by lookign at the stats we might have to be ready for a few trick plays because WR Frantz Simeon has thrown 2 passes on the year.

At RB RS Soph. Charles Pierre is the leading rusher with 312 yards but only 3.3 YPC. Fr. Willie Floyd is the number 2 rusher on the team with 142 yards and 4.1 YPC. Also watch for Sean Clayton he is averaging 4 YPC. Aaron Sanchez the FB will also get a few carries, he is averaging 3.7 YPC for a total of 96yards.

Frantz Simeon is their leading WR but he has yet to score a TD. Avery Holley and Jason Harmon look to be the other 2 go to WR, both of them has 2 TD's on the year. Also watch out for the FB Aaron Sanchez is looked at to make plays receiving...he has 9 catches for 102 yards.

On Defense they run a base 4-3 and their leading tacklers are LB Cergile Sincere and Safety Kris Bartels who are tied with 38 tackles. Sincere is also tied for the team lead in sacks with 2. DB Rickey Bethel leads the team in int. with 2.

It's good for us fans to really get to knwo the other teams in the conf. and I figure this is a good way to do it soI'll try to make a post like this the rest of the year.

    Hope ya'll enjoy...GEAUX CAJUNS!!!!

Thanks Clutch. I agree. I like to know more about the opposing teams, players, and schemes as the game approaches, and I don't know much about our Sunbelt foes this year other than their records. Again, appreciate the post.

    Default Cajuns -11 at FAU

I think this line is too low, although a win by any amount would be a win.

  8. UL Football Ragin' Cajuns prepare for FAU

To listen to the UL football coaching staff, the numbers don't tell the story on Florida Atlantic's defense.

The Ragin' Cajuns wrapped up full-scale work Sunday in preparation for Wednesday's Sun Belt Conference opener against the Owls, who rank 118th out of 119 Division I-A teams in scoring defense in allowing 42.2 point per game.

"A lot of that came early," said Cajun coach Rickey Bustle, whose 3-2 team takes a three-game win streak into the 6:30 p.m. ESPN2 game. "The last couple of games they've played well defensively. They do a lot of different things ... we've seen three-man and four-man fronts this year, but not in the same game and we will Wednesday."

I'm seeing -8.5 on vegas.com , which has the up to the minute betting lines for all the Vegas sportsbooks. And by the way they have us as SWLA.

Some one needs to inform them that if they are 6 years behind on the name, then how can we believe that they are up to the minute on the line?

vegasinsider.com also has up to the minute. Apparently the line opened up at one casino at 11 and then moved all the way down to 8.5. Not sure why.

    ZZZzzzzzzzz....

They had us at +17.5 at Hstn....

We will have taken a major step backwards if we dont win. I dont care if its 50, 15, or 5.....

    you must win.

My guess is that FAU soundly beat a really bad SUU team.

The same SUU team that played it tight against McNeese.

And we all know that McNeese woulp play us competatively

or at least that's what they keep telling us.

I hope we don't get off to our typical, national TV game slow start, but I think we win in a romp.

    FAU 10

    Payback, it's what's for dinner.

The line does not put me to sleep....

I happen to place a wager or two on college football and I have been waiting for Cajuns to start sunbelt play because, even though I may be betting with my heart as a fan, I believe the cajuns will roll through most of these games and their spread option attack will be very difficult to defend when playing against teams that don't have superior talent on defense. In my opinion, the -8.5 line is a major value and I agree with above prediction that the cajuns will win about 35-10. At the end of the day, a win is a win, but I think this will be a blow out.
