I'm sorry, but FAUs defense did not play a great game, as some have said in other posts. It is easy to defend the same play again, and again, and again.
When you have a 1st and 10 in the redzone, with a 6 point lead, you go for the TD. You don't play for a field goal just to make it a two score game. Edmiston will miss one every now and then, obviously.
Two things that almost cost us the game
1- Horrible play calling
2- Complete lack of effort and emotion
I love the Cajuns, but that was laughable.
I agree, but this junk has been going on for a looooooooooong time now. Time for some changes to be made.Originally Posted by laragincajun

If you haven't watched the game turn off your sets . . .
I just saw UL kick a FG
And then saw the kickoff sail into the endzone. I didn't know he had that much leg. I thought the new tee rules would that less likely.
Our defense played very well. Our offensive play calling stunk. I am not going to credit FAU for much of our offensive struggles. We made them look good. That play calling was POOR.
As a fan, I am happy with the W. Our coaches better not be pleased with that offensive performance on THEIR part. Having a rude awakening at a supposedly "inferior opponent", needs to drive them into full alert.
You don't improve by back slapping and saying "gee, that was close... but we WON". Or are we ready to accept 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place!?!?!?
This is the same offense that score 34 points against EMU and 31 points against Houston. You have to give FAU credit, they just did not get bad all of a sudden.Originally Posted by CajunShocker

But when it comes down to it, isn't 4-2 (1-0) better than 3-3 (0-1)?
Anyone who thinks this was a "great 3 1/2 hr commercial" for the program is fooling only himself.Originally Posted by CajunShocker

And might I suggest that you find a player on campus this week and tell him that they lacked effort or emotion.
