A Monroe man is being held in the Lafayette Parish jail this morning awaiting a court date.
Thirty-six year old Nelson Francis is facing multiple charges. He was arrested Thursday night in downtown Lafayette.
Sources tell KATC Nelson has multiple D.U.I.s and according to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office website he is held on a $100,000 bond for the D.U.I. charge.
Nelson is also charged with issuing worthless checks, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, resisting an officer, battery of a police officer and operating a vehicle under a prior suspension.
