I am happy to see this
Hopefully Coach Hud will crack a smile to

I'd say it's a fair assessment. We won some close ones last year and IMO will have to improve as a team toatch or surpass last years success.
You can't simply look at numbers. Football is not always a numbers game. While it is certainly interesting that the statistics didn't necessarily add up to such a huge turnaround, to me it shows what can happen if you believe. I'm looking for the team to continue defying the odds until such a time that we simply have the kind of team that everyone expects to win.
GEAUX CAJUNS!!
I think everything is fairly accurate except for the #96 ranking.
I'm not saying we won't do it again but 9-4 is a really tough record to replicate for any team, much less a Sun Belt team that has to play 2 money games.
Patrick Stevens has covered Maryland and other Mid-Atlantic college sports for more than a decade.
He has 10 whole years of Maryland football knowledge. He must have started when he was 12.
The further you are from our program and the less you know what initiated a program turnaround, the less likely you would grant us a higher ranking.
Not to upset anyone, but we squeaked out some wins last year, and against some bad teams. I see us improving, measurably, this coming season. Even Hudspeth was surprised at the extent of the turnaround speed last year (results-wise). We took Bustle recruits, and true freshmen, ramped up the conditioning, physically and mentally, and it EDGED us over most competitors. It will take a lot of good things to happen to get to a 9-3 season again... and that is with me believing we'll be way better than last year.
You don't get the full effects of better recruiting and a massively better physical and mental strength and conditioning program in year one. I'm not sure what the results will be, but we will be a much better football team this coming year.
This guy ranked us as if we are still the same program over the past decade, and had an outlier year, statistically. He does not know the internal aspects of our program - and nor should he.
Adder: There are hundreds of these guys all over the U.S. When we go out this year and snag 7 or more wins, head to a bowl again, at a minimum, these guys will raise our national ranking. You can't do one year, and get this level guy (unless he robs a more thorough person's work) in the nether regions to see us differently.
Even 6-6 ranks higher than 96th
