I think they have better potential than the ones they are replacing. As far as team chemistry goes, they are already better. Only the loss of Coleby bothered me; he was going to be one of two seniors on the team. Coach Marlin even tried to impress upon him the need for him to provide some leadership for the team.
Some people are leaders and some are followers. He packed his bags and left.
Mike, I just never had that good feeling about Marlin's coaching abilities. I definitely have no confidence in his or his assistants ability to recruit. The talent just isn't there.
I have time to mull over this decision. Definitely nothing earth shattering. Might just give him another season.
I'll agree with you on everything except Marlin's coaching abiities ... with the talent level we had last year and with the previous coach, we get 3-5 wins not a .500 season. Now we need the other parts in place to get back to the ncaa's ... I am hoping we have them now.
I was on the fence also, but my son helped me decide. He wants the tickets, so we will give Marlin at least one more year. In two more years, he will be in college, so he'll get in free and I'll make him get me escort tickets. Give it another year Kent, and if we don't see improvement in the win column, we'll start a bowling league together.
We want Beau---We want Beau----WE want Beau----We want Beau!!!!! Come on man---One more year !!!!!
Even though I have been encouraging people to renew tickets because I believe the program will move in the right direction now that Coach Marlin has become more involved in recruiting, that does not mean I believe we will have a winning season. That is tough for any mid major to do with 7 freshman expected to have key roles. I do expect to see progress as the season moves along.
