Thread: 2006: Louisiana-31 Houston-28

  1. Default Cajun QB Babb sets new mark with SBC honor

No football player in Sun Belt Conference history had ever been named as Player of the Week three consecutive times until Monday, but UL quarterback Jerry Babb can now claim that honor.

Babb, who helped engineer the Ragin' Cajuns' 31-28 comeback win at Houston last Saturday, was honored as the Sun Belt's Offensive Player of the Week by the league office Monday. He became the first player in any category - offense, defense and special teams - to win the award in consecutive weekends.

"That snowball's starting to get bigger for him," Cajun coach Rickey Bustle said Monday. "He made some true Jerry Babb plays Saturday ... he probably only had one bad decision when he threw back across his body, and other than that he played really well."

The senior's numbers weren't eye-popping, with Babb competing 15-of-29 passes for 146 yards and one score and rushing 12 times for 73 more yards and another touchdown. But the offense he skippered scored the last six times it had the football, including an 18-play, 85-yard drive that led to the winning touchdown with 1:02 left.

  2. UL Football Ricky Bustle on Rivals Radio on Sirius

He will be on in the third hour this morning. Channel 123 for whoever has sirius radio. I think that is between 8:00 and 9:00.

I tuned in a little too late. Anyone get to listen?

Let's keep rollin', but also keep our eyes right in front us...
    I agree.

The FAU game is a statement game for us on National Television.

We should have beaten them last year. If we would have beat them, we would have gone to the New Orleans Bowl. I don't think the players or the coaches have forgotten about that. I am looking forward to a Cajun beatdown of FAU next Wed. and a packed Cajun Field against Middle Tenn the following week.

You are always welcomed to do so.

A heads up, apples to apples comparison gives the overwhelming nod to the Tex A&M game. However, there is the old adage that says "it's not what you've done for me, it's what you've done for me lately that matters" and it may well apply in this case.

Rickey said last night that Risher will not play against FAU and is very much up in the air for MT.

Like you said after the EMU game with Ricky, high ankle sprains persist for a long time. I am not liking the sounds of this injury, this could persist for awhile. However getting Fisher back is a big boost

I hope they don't try to rush it back but it sounds like they are giving him plenty of time to come back at full health.

Default Re: UL vs. Houston Gameday Audio Available?

This is the email I received back from 1420.

Unfortunately, we don't tape the games.

We will begin streaming our signal on the web (most likely in January), and we will begin putting games in files at that time. As of now however, we have no complete audio of the UL/UH game.

    Sorry I can't help more.

    Steve
