I don't know if that stat is recoverable, but a game with more 4th down tries does not exist in my memory banksOriginally Posted by OldBullDog

Sorry for the loss, my mom and extended family are Nebraskan so . . . . :o
I will say this, since you started posting I have rooted for ISU except when playing Nebraska, still (until Saturday) haven't you had a nice little run on them at home?
ps thanks for the congrats, now go beat Oklahoma
Iowa State has won the last two at home against Nebraska and lost to them in overtime at Lincoln last year. It could end up being a long season for the Clones as they play Oklahoma next week in Norman.
Disagree, I really don't see us playing Houston in the New Orleans bowl. I say that because Houston will not be in the New Orleans bowl. They will make a different bowl. And who knows... maybe we will too!Originally Posted by crazycajun

Offensive Player of the Week
Jerry Babb (Louisiana-Lafayette, Sr., QB)
Babb led the Cajuns to an incredible comeback at Houston. Trailing 21-0 in the second quarter, Babb got Louisiana-Lafayette on the board with a 14-yard touchdown run (he had 12 rushes for 73 yards). Babb came out in the second half and led ULL to a score on every offensive possession. ULL dominated the second half, outgaining UH 249-113 and outscoring the Cougars 21-7. Babb directed scoring drives of 14-plays, 62 yards, 9-plays, 47 yards, 7-plays 54 yards and the game-winning TD drive with 62 seconds remaining on an 18-play, 85-yard drive. He personally converted 6-of-9 third downs in the second half either rushing or passing (including 4-of-4 in the fourth quarter). With 62 ticks left, Babb hit his tight end with the go-ahead score and then upped the Cajuns margin with a two-point conversion pass. For the third week in a row, Babb picked up offensive player of the week honors and in doing so, the Lafayette native becomes the first player to be selected football player of the week three consecutive weeks (in any category).
Babb is really getting it done. He is making things happen with his arm and running all while making excellent decisions. I am glad to see that he is getting all this attention. He deserves it.
According to the radio broadcast, there was a scout from the CFL at the game to watch Jerry (and, of course, anyone else who caught his eye). But the reporter (forgot the name) said he spoke with the scout who specifically mentioned Babb.Originally Posted by Choppie29
The SID (Chris Burkhalter) and assistant SID (Former UL head guy Jeff Conrad) are both UL grads.
They were proud to make sure LOUISIANA was on the scoreboard.
I can see him getting it again after a huge game on national television...I hate to jinx him but I think we are looking at the offensive player of the year.
