Everyone is seeming to forget the decade of missery after the Tex. a&m win. Obviously, if we fall on our face the rest of this season, then the Houston game means nothing, but if we roll from here on out, the Houston game will always be remembered as the turning point in the direction and future of the program.

    Well put.

If Houston falls off the charts no one will remember how good of a team they were or were becoming. The better Houston does in the future the better this win becomes.

I have seen it before, Texas Aggies were very good but fell off the charts that year and now only we Ragin' Cajun fans call it a great win and we only do it based on the Aggies great tradition. I agree with the earlier post that said Houston has no great tradition so they have to keep doing well for this to stay the greatest win.

The other side of the coin is the Cajuns need to keep winning, if we had won through the 90’s the Aggie win would be a distant memory. If we were to lose now we will remember the Houston win. I want to win a lot from here on out so the Houston win becomes a blur.

This was the passing of a great test, time will tell if it was the greatest.
I can promise you, AGGIE fans remember. I have severa clients who graduated from A & M and they mention it every year. I think that's why they show us no mercy when they are up on us.

    Weekly Football Release

For the third week in a row, Jerry Babb picked up offensive player of the week honors. In doing so, the Lafayette native becomes the first player to be selected football player of the week three consecutive weeks (in any category). Against Houston, Babb directed scoring drives of 14-plays, 62 yards, 9-plays, 47 yards, 7-plays 54 yards and the game-winning TD drive with 62 seconds remaining on an 18-play, 85-yard drive. ...more

Just got back from Houston this morning. This game was awesome. To me it will always be remembered as the "4th and Geaux" game. The players looked like they would never give up, even going down by 21 early (with official help). Great win for the program.

UL Football Re: Cajuns greatest win?

It was a great win but we need to get over it this week and start getting ready for confrence. I've seen to many times after a big win we do not come out to play the next week. We can not let that happen next wednesday night. So not only does the team need to let this win go but the town and news paper needs to let it go.

I really thought that the stadium as a whole was beautiful inside. Especially when you looked toward the north endzone at the Houston skyline. Still, you're right. Nothing was as beautiful as the scoreboard at the end of the game. Houston 28....Louisiana 31.....Time: 0:00.

I would love to hear it too. I think someone said Jay was screaming his head off. I wouldn't have heard it as there were 3 to 4k cajuns fans around me screaming along. I can no longer talk myself. I have to text message my wife for almost everything.

Instead of comparing the games, you are comparing the decade that followed one game against the the decade that follows the second game that hasn't happened yet and reaching a conclusion based on potential and expectations. That's hard to subscribe to.
