Any Coach in the country. Come on Bobby Knight, Coach K, yeah I bet they overlook mistakes by their players, why are you always taking up for Coach Lee. If he is such a disciplinarian like you brag that he is why in the hell did he take back Southall? The General is now Sgt. 2nd Class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How is it possible to put something Coach Lee did in the same class as something Coach K would have done and then give him a military demotion?Originally Posted by cajunchicken
I didn't brag about his being a disciplinarian, I called him a man of integrity.Originally Posted by cajunchicken
Otherwise, my point is although he took Southall back, I suspect if it turns out to be a mistake he won't hide it.
I also suspect, other coaches would hide small stuff hoping it wouldn't get worse. So far coach Lee has been surprisingly faithful to his credo in the small stuff.

What don't you understand! It's not that complicted, Turbine is saying that not many coaches would have banned the druggies from playing in the game and I am saying that Coach K who is a coach in Division I basketball just as General Lee is would have done the same. No I take it back, he would have probably let them go, just as Kentucky did with Southall, but no we keep him again, how many chances do we give this kid. That is why I give him a miliatary demotion!
I am new to this rage page, but not even close to being new to UL athletics. I have been following UL since 1990 back when it was USL. Coach Lee is indeed a very good person and a great Coach. For those of you who are quick to point fingers, maybe you should take a close look at what Coach Lee does on a daily basis at practices and behind the scenes. If in fact he did disciplice these players for "violating team rules" or being late to a meeting, then my hat's off to him. These policies and procedures are put in place for a reason. If a team meeting and film starts at 2:00, then you should be there at 2:00. Discipline is what this team has needed for a long, long time (back to the days of Michael Allen, Tony Moore, etc). Most of you probably don't know anything except for what you read about in the paper or hear on the news or with Jay Walker. I know that previously, athletes were running wild with little control. It was indeed a laughing stock. I say back off of Coach Lee and great job. You need to look at the big picture and see what Coach Lee is trying to accomplish over the long haul, not simply wins and losses.
Lee seems to be the first disciplinarian this program has seen since Bobby Paschal, and I for one am happy to see it. Who cares about a loss to Charlotte early in the season.
We had all these guys in against SIU, Tennessee and, gulp, Georgia State. What makes you think it would have made a difference against Charlotte???? The guys who did play apparently played their asses off, and gee, I wonder why?
Lee sent a big-time message, and he sent it to the right people. For this program, it's about damned time.

The three violated a team rule.
Those who want to know exactly what happened are those who want to know so they can make the decision as to whether or not the punishment was harsh enough.
That puts those about a half step above those who judge without knowing anything.
You want gossip? You want the scoop that no one knows?
The Young and the Restless is on CBS at 11.
Thanks Bird for setting the record strait...The guys were punish and that all that needs to be said...Originally Posted by BirdofParadise
I'm tired of reading this. If a 2 game suspension wasnt harsh enough for someone missing a meeting, then yall arent getting it. All 3 were punished HARSHLY for something minor. In school, we typically get 3 abcences before we start getting a deduction in grade...could you imagine if our 4th abcense was dismissal from school, or even our first. With this past instance, he didnt eat a baby, he didnt smoke crack, and he didnt shoot anybody, so why are we overcomplicating this. 2 games is enough.Originally Posted by JMVCAJUNS

Becuase it's HIS board. When you have your own board, you can move around threads as you wish. I would think you would be glad to have a place to post and not take issue with Turbine's "housekeeping" style. I've always given you the benfit of the doubt despite the fact that you seem to have worn out your welcome on other boards, but your post came across as downright rude. I for one appreciate Turbine's efforts and if he doesn't want to merge threads then more power to him. He is doing this for free for us, in case you've forgotten. Thanks, Turbine!Originally Posted by Mineshaft
