Your coach will lose a lot of respect if he allows Southall to play. It will look like an act of desperation on his part to win at all costs.
Man u worried that if he does come back that will be athree pete an no dancin in March for the hilltoppers....................

However in the mean time there is no shame in trying, when if at first you didn’t succeed . . .

It wasn't much of a human interest story when Jessie recruited after all the other schools passed on him after his first drug arrest back at the start of his college career. It wasn't a human interest story after he was academically ineligible after he failed a couple of classes for the 2003-2004 season. So why is it one now when HE SPENT A FRICKING YEAR IN JAIL! He's a felon. He's a druggy.

Our basketball team gets a good amount of national exposure and to have a guy who hasn't played in a collegiate basketball game since when, the 2003 NIT game where we got beat by UAB or was he ineligible for that game too? This is not about human interest stories. It's about representing our university on a national level and I don't want to see him represent this university.

I know we won't agree on everything. But I do recall you and me agreeing on Luke Aubrey. I only bring that up to point out that I am not attacking you, I agree with you on a lot of other issues. But on this one you are being harsh.

You supported UL basketball before during and after Southall's first stint. Thus, you and I have no right to bring up his prior UL stigma. You might have a point on the human interest angle, and since it wasn't much of a human interest story before, the rest of the world probably won't bat an eye now, I mean it's not like he is coming here from Kentucky anymore. If they didn't care then they won't care now.

At least not till he makes a good name for himself. If he can pull off the amazing comeback from nowhere, I still think this has all the makings of an incredible human interest success story. If he comes up short, then you are right, no one will care.

MS committed a felonious action before he came to UL; he did drugs before he came to UL. His actions at UL are not what robbed him of a year of his life, his actions at UL were the heavier than a feather trigger that revoked his free status. His year in jail was because of the seriousness of his actions before his time at UL. His relapse at UL did not send him to jail of its own accord, those actions simply revoked his passport.

When he paid his debt and was allowed to reenrolled in school that passport was renewed.

The only thing that MS should be judged on is the "right now” his current life style is the pivot point on which judgment should hinge. Currently he passes as a drug free, straight "A" student.

I Look at it like the Ricky Williams situation. If Ricky Williams quits again, no one is going to want him because he violated is contract 2 times in a row.

I think it is the same for Micheal Southall. He knows this is his last chance, and if he passed all of his classes, and did what he needed to do to get back on the team then so be it. Plus if he ends up doing it again it is on Micheal Southall, the University will come out of this dry as a whistle.

Look I am just saying that if he took a drug test passed it, and passed all of his classes, then that proves to me that he cleaned up his act, and willing to change enough to be able to come back onto the team. If he does anything to tarnish is record more, then he is goin for good

HE KNOWS THIS IS HIS LAST CHANCE, IT IS EITHER DO OR DIE FOR MICHEAL SOUTHALL, AND HE KNOWS IT. I THINK HE IS REALLY IS TRYING TO CHANGE.

THE SITUATION FROM MY POINT OF VIEW

Yeah, you guys are such a class act yourselves. And such good conference bretheren. You won't move to 1A in football which would benefit the 'Belt but you'll ~~~~ all over yourselves and announce plans to move to 1A immediately for the MAC.

Why should we give a ~~~~ about a bunch hillbillies who cried to the conference office about teams celebrating a win on an away court? Go cry to Wright Waters about Southall. We certainly don't need advice from the pillpoppers.

I care as much about WKU's thoughts about our basketball team as I care about France's thoughts on American foreign policy.

And I think many of you on here ought to be ashamed of yourselves for tossing kid that has done everything asked of him for the past year to the scrapheap of life.

I haven't said he should just throw his life away. I feel as though he has exhausted all of his opportunities to play basketball at UL. He's been giving chance, after chance, after chance, only to let down his fellow teammates and fans TWICE before. Where do you draw the line?

Interesting note. In the two years that Southall was here, what postseason tourney did the Cajuns play in? In the two years Southall has been gone, what postseason tourney did the Cajuns play in? All you people who think this is going to help us win more are kidding yourselves.
