Why even put yourself in that position...

Dont tell me MS didnt know Williams was getting high...

When people are watching your every move, you should have enough common sense to stay away from trouble makers...

MS showed poor judgement (AGAIN) by being associated with another pothead.

    Thats stupidity...

I sure hope Coach Lee isn't wasting his timne waiting for MS to make a turnaround.

MS is done. There is nothing left for us to say to him but "goodbye"

An interesting story in the Sunday Advertiser about a guy with a checkered past who turned his life around through sports. In this case, boxing was the sport. Link

Word came through over the weekend that Mike Southall cleared one of the hurdles in his path to playing this season. He passed all 3 of his summer classes with A's and is well on his way toward eligibility. It is my understanding that Mike is being welcomed back and the program is excited to have him for one more year. If anyone knows more keep me posted

I am really disappointed that he is welcomed back. It is like our Men's basketball program is in a desperate situation. If we need players with Troubled past to play on our team, then count me out for season tickets. I don't support programs that use potential problem children. This is the harshest statement I have ever made about Michael, I don't think this is a sound decision by the men's b'ball coaches and it may just back fire on them.

Straight A student, I would have lost a bet.

If he has done everything it takes for him to get back in the good graces of the coaches and Coach Lee believes he should be playing, then I support his return 100%

I welcome him back, and I believe I have changed my mind about him.
Straight A's is a great accomplishment, but he has to keep it up in the fall.
Right now he has no distrations, during basketball season, there will be more distractions, hopefully he is on the right track.
I put my trust in coach LEE.

Were the charges dropped against Southall?

    Yes they were.

Improving maybe? I would not say he has seen the light so much as he understands this is his last chance. A guy with the history of Mike is not going to turn a corner just like that. I do, however, believe he is watching his step and will be much more prudent in his decision making process this time around. lets hope so anyway...
