Probation being violated results in one-year term.
LAFAYETTE — The topsy-turvy basketball career of former UL Lafayette Ragin’ Cajun Michael Southall took another turn for the worse over the Memorial Day weekend.
As published in Saturday’s edition of the La Crosse Tribune, Southall was ordered on Friday to spend a year in the La Crosse County jail for a probation violation on a 2000 drug conviction.
The 6-10, 242-pound West Salem, Wisc., native pleaded with La Crosse County Circuit Judge Ramona Gonzalez for another chance, but Gonzalez denied Southall’s request.
The Tribune reported that she handed down the jail time, because Southall “just doesn’t get it.’’
