This was going on when he was a part of the team, I know this for a fact, not only could he not pass a test at school, he couldn't pass the easiest test of all, it required no studying at all.

Probation being violated results in one-year term.

LAFAYETTE — The topsy-turvy basketball career of former UL Lafayette Ragin’ Cajun Michael Southall took another turn for the worse over the Memorial Day weekend.

As published in Saturday’s edition of the La Crosse Tribune, Southall was ordered on Friday to spend a year in the La Crosse County jail for a probation violation on a 2000 drug conviction.

The 6-10, 242-pound West Salem, Wisc., native pleaded with La Crosse County Circuit Judge Ramona Gonzalez for another chance, but Gonzalez denied Southall’s request.

The Tribune reported that she handed down the jail time, because Southall “just doesn’t get it.’’

RaginCajun77, when people go into jail with addictions like Southall has, what if anything is done to treat them?

    UL Basketball michael southall

I heard coach lee mention that he spoke with him before the game wed night. is there some possibility that he will be a cajun next year? A few days ago i heard jay say that coach will recruit more guards and maybe a big man, with the players that are seniors only James will be returning along with berry jordan who is school, this makes me believe that maybe we havent seen the last of MS

This is WEIRD. I saw your post and I did a Google Search for Michael Southall. I didn't put the name in quotes so it just found the words Michael and Southall.

Ragin' Cajuns I think we would see the best play from him yet!

I would love to give him another chance! I spoke to him several times last year. He really is a good kid, Just a little immature. maybe he needs a mentor...someone who can relate to him and kinda keep him focused!

We would surely see a new and improved Michael! It would be incredible.....

What about Cedric Williams? It was my understanding that he was in school this year with hopes of possibly qualifying for a return next year.

I don't want Southall on campus. He let UL, the team and above all the people that really took a chance on him and of course himself.

    NO WAY
