Thread: Athlete (2001-2003) Michael Southall

UL Basketball The New Michael Southall

I was just curious to see what everyone thought of the Cajuns' performance tonight, particularly with Southall in the lineup. Personally, I was impressed. I thought Mike looked hungry and fired up just to be playing. I'm expecting good things from this team...comments?

I think the Cajuns has something special and will be VERY TUFF. The fans need to pack the house. I did not think the fans were into the game as games passed tonight, may it was because they were up so far?

It was the most excitement I've ever seen for an exibition game. I haven't seen the stats, but I bet Southall blocked a dozen or more shots. He's got NBA written all over him. Looked like a man playing with boys.
Between Southall, Cameron, & James; we will own anything close to the basket. Mitchell's ball handling has improved, Barksdale can handle the ball, some of the new guys (Fields, Turner) look like they can contribute right off the bat. Even Rhett hebert made a good shot. Southall will outright dominate some games this year and make them laughable. We could have gone to Southall everytime tonight.

The lead had something to do with it, but the lack of BEER had alot more to do with it.

Why o why can't we declare the games BYOB and have the UP's look the other way???

Ed Turner is going to be a fine player. He also impressed me much and WTF was with the Technical on Ross?

Yeah, that was a really stupid call. The only reason he hung on the rim for a fraction of a second was because there were two guys from the other team bearing down on him from behind.

Also, I like the "block" where Southall just kinda reached up and grabbed the ball from the other guy.

This team has a long way to go to live up to some people's expectations, not the least of which is their own. There is talent in place to be impressive, but with the schedule filled with no pushovers, there is very little time for them to mesh. I know we want to be strong for conference, but this team has a chance to make some national noise in the pre-conference schedule with games against Southern Illinois, Tennessee, Charlotte, Texas-El Paso, LSU & Nevada. Next Friday is going to be here sooner than I'd like. I'm glad Robert is the coach, they will be as ready as they can be for that game.

    Oh, the bad part.

The Ragin Jazz halftime show. If you saw it, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
