Jerry Babb admitted that it was one of the worst balls he had ever thrown, but to sophomore wide receiver Jason Chery, the 38-yard touchdown pass must have looked beautiful.

"When I saw the ball coming I knew I had to either catch it or knock it down," said Chery. "Once I caught it, I thought I was going to get tackled. I looked up and thought, 'Is this true?' and when I got in the end zone I thought, 'So this is how it feels to score a touchdown.'"

Chery finished the game with five catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns, helping to lead a Cajuns passing attack that defeated Eastern Michigan 33-14 Saturday.

Chery had to work for his first collegiate touchdown pass. He was wide open on an option throw, but Babb's toss floated to the middle of the field.

The defender got turned around and Chery was able to come back to the ball at the 4-yard line. He then shed two tackles and stepped into the shaded south end zone to put the Cajuns on top, 14-0.
