Those foundatations by necessity must be deep. The garage will be nice and is as centrally located as possible.
I hope the new garage helps attendance at Lady Cajun basketball games.
ps sorry for the trick head line

Thanks for the photos.
You weren't kidding when you said deep! Holy cow! Thanks for the pictures
Does anybody know how many stories the parking garage is supposed to be?
Also, perhaps the university should look into making a parking garage at cajun field. This way more people could park in the tower leaving more room for tailgating area. I realize it might not be feesible now, but hopefully in the future it might be something seriously considered.
Four-story.........417 parking spots.Originally Posted by Kal
This is really a good idea... what about this thought:Originally Posted by Kal
The property directly across from Cajun field between University Medical Center and LITE could house a parking tower. The tower could be used during the week for University Park which has plans of future growing anyway. On the weekends it would be used for football/athletic events. This would clear up space for more tailgating spots, which means more $$ for the University. Everyone knows as of right now if we added more spots they would be taken. This idea would cause the tower to be used for more than just athletics therefore it would be used all year round, not just during sporting events.
I thought about the same thing. Maybe a good spot (if ever done) would be between the student side of the stadium and the cajundome; that way it could service both sites.Originally Posted by Kal
On a side note, when we attended the game at UT last year we actually "tailgated" in a parking garage. Yuck! Looking forward to a much better time this saturday?
I think, that since we will already have this 417-spot parking garage on campus, we should build a new stadium on campus. It could have suites, Jumbo-Trons, two levels all the way around, and cupholders at every suite. then we could just tailgate on campus.Originally Posted by shof
Here's one thing about my idea that I forgot to mention and is pretty important. If a tower were built behind the hilton or across congress, or even if more tailgating spots were added at these locations, what are you going to do about the pedestrians? Either another tunnel under congress will have to be added, or a catwalk above the street to allow safe crossing of congress. Perhaps something similar to the one that connects the astrodome parking lot and what used to be six flags Astroworld.

It is a great idea though. It won't happen anytime soon.
We voted on that parking garage a few years ago and I been paying fees for it. I graduate in December... I'll never get to use it.
We were expecting this garage to be behind Griffin originally. They put the new computer science building there. We should have scraped the parking garage. It doesn't do much to help. 417 spots isn't going to help that much, but that area on campus is going to be conjested. UL is losing all it's green space.
417 spots seem like even less when you consider that half of them will be reserved for faculty.Originally Posted by theragincajun06
