But whether the games start at 7pm, 4pm, or 6am I'll still be there. Even though it's not my prefferred time to view a cajuns' game, there's no sense in moaning about it. Let's just be happy that we have 6 home games this year instead of 5.
The 4 pm Sun will soon not be a factor, with one game left in September, the only game we have in October is the last weekend, that weekend is Daylight's saving time( not until Sat. nite though) and 2 games in Nov. and 1 in Dec. GOOD NEWS is sun won't be a factor. I have been there in sun and it is bright, but like all have, Coach Bustle wants it and it has it advantages for doing things after game.

We aren't paying Bustle a truckload of money, but we are paying him more than we've ever paid any other coach in school history. And we're paying him to trust him on stuff like this. If you can't make it on time, too damn bad. I can't make it at all, so pardon me if I call you all a bunch of crybabies.

That's you. Not everyone is like you.

I raised four children and am currently raising two more. They are four years old.

With a 7pm kickoff, they were asleep on the hill by the end of the third quarter. My wife, fortunately, has someone go to the games with her, otherwise she'd be trying to carry twins out of the stadium by herself.

No matter how flat the pancake is, there are two sides to it.

    I get that. Do you?

I like the idea of a consistent time. I personally like 4 PM. However, I do admit it is a problem for some. I think of folks who have things like soccer games for children on Saturdays which may make it tough to get there at 4. I also think of out of town folks who need to get there errands done on Saturday before heading to Lafayette. 4 PM is a little early for people in that situation. I really feel for students who work on Saturdays and may have difficulty attending due to the need to make a few bucks. In addition-students have the sun on them during the early part of the season. I believe 5 PM as a consistent starting time would be a compromise which would address most of these issues and still let things finish at a decent hour. Face it, coaches and some staff work till well past midnight when games are at 7. We had good coverage in the media post game last week. Getting finished early helps with that. 5 PM will allow all of this to be addressed. At the end of the season, this issue may be reviewed by the administration.

All of this stuff is an issue for folks in BR. However they just sold out an 11:30 game. I know some may say that is because of their national ranking. I say their support helped get them that ranking.

One way to solve all the issues of these games is to stop pro-creating. some have issues with late games because of kids. some have issues with earlier games because of kids. I feel a bit fortunate because if and when I have kids, and get back to town for all the games, I'll just drop 'em at MawMaw's house. She takes care of my dog when I drive in now, she'll definitely take care of her grandbaby.

With the current state of our program, we should be doing everything we can to get the most butts in the seats as possible. 4:00 does not do that.

The school to the east starts at 7. Do they know something that we don't?
What about the people that work at night, which if i had to geuss on a saturday more cajun fans work at night than during the day, all the resteraunts, downtown bars, what about those people who really pump up this college town? 7pm games they can't go to b/c they have to work. There is two sides to every story and like i said earlier, who really cares what we want if the coaches and the players prefer is this way. We should be out there whether is 7 or 4 or 9 am. does it really matter? No matter what time you play there will be people who have to miss it b/c of work that is called life and responsibility. Should nfl start later b/c people go to 12 mass instead of 10 oclock. And i agree with you we should be doing whatever we can to get butts in the seats, winning will do that not start time. oh and by the way that scool to the east just sold out an 1130am game, you think those fans are not going to go to the game b/c its at 1130?

    Bottom line:

No matter the start time, it's ALWAYS going to be inconvenient to someone.

So we might as well do what's most convenient for the most important people:

I miss playing football at night. I always liked 7 p.m. games at "The Swamp".

4 p.m. is just about the time I am relaxed in my tailgaiting spot.

Games ending at 7 p.m. leave a void.... Games ending at 10 p.m. carry on to downtown.

It's also hot as heck at 4 p.m. not as bad at 7 p.m.

    What are you guys thoughts?

The best time is anytime its not raining!
