I miss playing football at night. I always liked 7 p.m. games at "The Swamp".

4 p.m. is just about the time I am relaxed in my tailgaiting spot.

Games ending at 7 p.m. leave a void.... Games ending at 10 p.m. carry on to downtown.

It's also hot as heck at 4 p.m. not as bad at 7 p.m.

    What are you guys thoughts?

I have 2 daughters at UL. Both had to work till after 5. They wanted to go. They are the lowest on the totum pole and cannot get off.

With the current state of our program, we should be doing everything we can to get the most butts in the seats as possible. 4:00 does not do that.

The school to the east starts at 7. Do they know something that we don't?

For every daughter that has to work til four, there's a family who wasn't going before because it kept their little ones out til 1030 or so.

Now they can go to the game, kids can have a good time and be home in time for baths and a normal bedtime.

So BOP this sounds like its going to be permanent correct? So the only way we'll get a 7pm game is if ESPN says hey we want to televise your game, but you'll have to move it to 7pm.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure 7 p.m. on Saturday night isn't going to be the Cajuns' time slot when ESPN does call. Maybe another night, but not Saturday.

Sorry BOP, you don't get it. I've raised 5 children and my wife & I have taken them them to all of the UL football games while growing up. The games are on "Saturday" night, which is not a school night. Try again..........

No... I am not complaining. Why can't we have a discussion?

I don't like 4 p.m. I will be damn straight about that, but I love football and I will support my Cajuns. I just posed a question.

So chill and listen to what I said.

It's a Saturday night. So what if the kids have to go to bed at 10:30? I hope you mean 3 year olds. Kids don't go to bed at 10:30 on a Sat night.

College town mentality would have you playing a game at 7 p.m. and then the college kids heading downtown after a big Cajun victory.

I even ran into some Alum and two college professors dripping in sweat saying... damn I'd rather play at 7 p.m.

And it's still hot and humid in "The Swamp" ... just don't have the sun beating up the whole student section. I always liked the atmosphere of night games.
A lot of students work Sat mornings... it sucks for those who can't go.

I didn't know it was a decision Bustle made. I talk to someone who works for the Alumni Assoc. and they said that when Abdalla was on the board they wanted late games so it wouldn't affect the business and when Abdalla left the board all the games were moved to 4 p.m. This is coming from the Alumni Assoc.

It's all good though... I'll be out there supporting the Cajuns... even if 7 lightning delays occur because of AFTERNOON thunderstorms

The game would have started at 7 p.m. we would have been fine

I feel the same. I just want the program to be s u c c e s s f u l !!! For a lot of reasons, we will get larger crowds with a 7:00 start. Everyone posting here is passionate about going to the games and supporting the Cajuns. But at this point there just are not enough of us. So we have to cater more to making it conveinient for a large segment that are not as dedicated. That's just the way it is.............

Yeah and I would love nothing more to see our attendance in the mid 20's at every game. The more... the better. The defense will feed off of the crowd and the offense will come out blazing. They look out to that sea of red and it's on. Our home record has been solid the last few years. We must keep that going. I hope we get at least 1 or 2 games pushed back to 7 p.m. ... maybe ESPN U or ESPN 2.

When the ref blows the whistle and the kicker kicks off.

What is the purpose of this "poll"?
