UL Football JUST TO MAKE A POINT

From the Houston Chronicle concerning their home game with Oklahoma State
"The victory over the Cowboys came before a raucous crowd of 28,260 - the third largest in the history of Robertson Stadium - and kept UH (4-0, 2-0 conference USA) unbeaten heading into a matchup at Miami (1-2) on Saturday."
They did a good job of planning this schedule when there team is up. I put this up just to show you that if we pay a second tier BCS school to come here What it will do for generating excitement, overall ticket sales, possible TV coverage, extra concession sales, etc... 30,000 people x $20.00 per ticket equals $600,000 pay out to get them here.
We can still go and play two pay-day games and we are better off because of the excitement and no worse off financially. GO CAJUNS!!!

There is also the option of setting up a home-at-home or a two for one type of deal with another team, which is what we would probably have to do with a "bottom-tier" BCS school.

Did anyone watch the UCF vs. USM game last night? UCF is building an on-campus football stadium that will seat 45,000. It looks like a small version of Michigan's stadium. That seems to be the size of newer stadiums these days, e.g. Louisville and Boston College.

I think if UL's stadium had the enzones filled in, it would hold around 50,000, and that would be the least expensive stadium seating expansion. That would look pretty good having a bowl with one side upper decked and the other side having suites. That, of course, would be a long term goal for UL but one that should certainly be on the horizon as we grow our program.

I agree. When the stadium was first built though, there was talk of the next addition being an upper deck over the student section. Until we start having overflow crowds, I can't see the school adding any seating.

Adding seating due to very high demand for those seats only happens at high level BCS programs such as LSU, Tennessee, etc.

Mid-Majors who expand stadiums are doing it for clout, which is not to say it is wrong to do.

Seating will be added to Cajun Field as soon as money is available. Trust me.

It's just that there are other important things to do first, a' la' Indoor Facility.

So true. Recruiting has so much more to do with the "behind the scenes" stuff than the stadium. Players spend six evenings a year in your stadium. They spend nearly every day in locker rooms, coaches offices, weight rooms, training rooms, practice facilities, etc. That's where you're going to get the recruiting bang for your buck.
