Cajuns WIN
Great game by the Cajuns. This is the team we were expecting to show up. Better late then never.
Great game!
Desormeaux took no snaps, right? I saw him on offense, special teams, and even on defense but not at QB? Any ideas why not? I am not being critical - Babb was spot-on and the passing game looked really good for the first time this season - but I was hoping to see Desormeaux take some snaps. Hundley raeally didn't get to do too much but hand off and the starters got to rest up for Houston (who lost to Miami by 1 point just now!) Next week will be a challenge!
Geaux Cajuns!
Yeah, that's smart. Let's now discourage the already horrible tailgaiting we do have. C'mon now. As long as their wearing red and supporting the Cajuns near Cajun field, let them be idiots and drink away under tents rather than in the stands. They rent them out. Besides, half of the tailgating population would vanish if all they allowed were BBQ's and cookoffs.Originally Posted by Damon
Desormeaux is a guy who can make an impact wherever he is needed. He wasn't needed at the QB position tonight. Hopefully this continues the rest of the season so he can play in other areas. Hundley was brought in during scrub time to get him some snaps and get game experience. Desormeaux doesn't really need those snaps. He has game experience.Originally Posted by ULBaby!
Me thinks that Houston is due for a letdown game. They poured their soul into the OSU and Miami game, and its quite possible that they are due for a letdown game vs UL. BTW, we found ourselves in a perfect situation for this game. STILL, 4 games in, we have yet to have truly opened our playbook fully AND our game vs them falls between that rough Miami game, and a tough conference game vs USM. This is "landmine" game for them. Things fall our way we can win. With that said, I'm not sold that we will win this one, but itll acctually be a close game.Originally Posted by ULBaby!

Rickey Bustle's got 19 wins as the University of Louisiana head football coach, but when he talked to his team Saturday night he put the just-completed 33-14 win over Eastern Michigan at the top of that list.
"I told them after the game that this was one of the best team wins since I've been here," Bustle said. "Our defense was all over, we were throwing the football, we ran the football well on the inside and our special teams were solid. It was a true team win."
It would be hard to argue with that. The Cajuns took a team that whipped them soundly 12 months ago and dominated them at every turn in a game in which mistakes were at a bare minimum.
UL's first seven possessions netted 338 yards. Eastern Michigan's first seven such efforts added up to only 84. In their most balanced offensive effort to date, the Cajuns had both rushing and passing success and didn't have a turnover for the second straight game.

LAFAYETTE — The University of Louisiana defense provided the initial spark and then the offense exploded.
That was evident early Saturday as UL-Lafayette limited Eastern Michigan to 70 first-half offensive yards and the Cajuns scored on five of their first seven possessions.
The combined efforts guided ULL to a second straight victory — its first over a Division I-A team this season — 33-14 before 15,923 in Cajun Field.
UL (2-2) kept EMU winless after five games and finished with 381 total offensive yards.
EMU ended with 246 total yards, but 114 of those came during the fourth quarter.
UL coach Rickey Bustle said everything came together for his team.
“I think this was one of the best team victories we have had since I have been here,” he said. “Our defense was just all over them and I think that set a tone.

One of the hardest things in football is to get all phases of the game to play at a high level, but UL made that task look easy at Cajun Field Saturday.
The Cajuns also answered a lot of questions - some of them from outside, and very likely some of their own - and poured out a year's worth of frustration in rolling past Eastern Michigan 33-14 for their second straight home win. And, as the cliché goes, it was not as close as the score indicated.
UL (2-2) raced out to a 23-0 halftime lead, had a 367-132 total offense lead through three quarters and took a shutout into the game's final nine minutes in dominating a team that had embarrassed them 31-10 on the road one season ago.
"A lot of us wanted to get that one back," said defensive tackle Marshall Delesdernier. "We didn't play well up there last year. This time, we needed to set a tone."
It would be hard to determine what unit set Saturday's tone. The Cajun offense scored on five of its first seven possessions. The defense gave up only 70 yards and four first downs in the first half. UL didn't have a turnover and played virtually flawless in the kicking game except for one blocked extra point.

It’s only fitting that a team from the Mid-American Conference is visiting Cajun Field this weekend, with Eastern Michigan taking on the Cajuns at 4 p.m. Saturday in UL’s second straight home game.
It was a MAC team that made last weekend’s UL-North Carolina A&T game possible — or necessary, depending on your point of view.
The Cajuns were scheduled to face Ohio University on Sept. 16, a game that had been contracted more than a year and a half earlier. However, last April, Ohio pulled out of that game in order to take a big-guarantee game at Rutgers on that date.
An April 8 release on the Ohio U. web site said, “The Bobcats will travel to Rutgers on Saturday, Sept. 16 ... This one-game contract replaces a previously-announced meeting with Louisiana-Lafayette. The future of the home-and-home series with the Ragin’ Cajuns is still being determined.”
At that time, Ohio hadn’t contacted UL to tell them they were pulling out of that game. In fact, it was more than a week later that officials from the two schools actually spoke on the phone.

Lafayette, LA (Sports Network) - Tyrell Fenroy rushed for 110 yards and one score to lead the UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns to an impressive 33-14 victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in a non-conference clash at Cajun Field.
Quarterback Jerry Babb also had a solid performance for ULL (2-2), as the signal caller completed 17-of-21 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Wide Out Jason Cherry was the recipient of both touchdown passes and finished the game with five catches for 93 yards.
As for Eastern Michigan (0-5), they were led by quarterback Andy Schmitt, who not only completed 23-of-35 passes for 171 yards, but also led the team with 62 rushing yards to go along with two rushing scores.
