Mike is a threat anywhere on the field.
He is an exciting player and made a huge leap in the air on that onside kick. That was a perfect ending.

The starters were pulled at the right time. We are in greater need of staying healthy and getting more players into the mix, than to worry about the margin of victory. I really like the decision to get Desormeaux into the game, all over the place. And, I agree with whoever said that we are going to see some "unanticipated plays" in the near future, involving MD.
Houston is going to be very tuff, but I think they may slump a bit after Miami (at least that is what I hope). They are turning out to be a stronger opponent than we expected preseason. I liked what I saw out of the Cajuns on Saturday. They are playing hard on both sides of the ball, and I saw the offensive mix that has to take shape during conference play. I think they will give a huge effort against Houston. I have arranged business to be in Houston on Friday, and will be going to the game. Geaux Cajuns!!!!!

Running the football hasn't been a problem for the University of Louisiana for more than a season.
The Ragin' Cajuns rushed for 170 yards or more in every game last season after the season opener, and finished the season ranked seventh nationally in averaging more than 254 yards a game. UL had 330 ground yards one week ago against North Carolina A&T.
Even in the lopsided losses to LSU and Texas A&M to open this season, the Cajun rushers still averaged 134 yards.
The passing game was another story. UL went into Saturday's home contest against Eastern Michigan averaging less than 53 yards and completing only 35 percent of its passes.
"We needed to throw the football better," said Cajun coach Rickey Bustle.
His team responded and quarterback Jerry Babb excelled Saturday, and the result was a 33-14 victory that evened the Cajuns at 2-2.

Quarterback Andy Schmitt (7), who was expected not to play after the jaw injury he sustained during the CMU game, went 23-of-35, with 171 yards passing and 62 yards rushing.
He wasn't the one who said he was motivated about being shown tackled on the front of the EMU media guide, but Ragin' Cajun quarterback Jason Babb sure played like it. Babb threw for 202 yards, two touchdowns and also ran for a touchdown, leading Louisiana-Lafayette (2-2) over the Eastern Michigan Eagles 33-14 on Saturday.
The one who was less than thrilled to see himself being tackled on the Eagles' media guide had a good day, too. Running back Tyrell Fenroy had 110 yards and a touchdown.
The game was seemingly out of reach for EMU by halftime. The Ragin' Cajuns jumped on top with an eight play, 65-yard drive, finished off by a nine-yard run by Babb. Babb then threw 38 and 17-yard touchdown passes to receiver Jason Chery.

Isn't there a waiting list for our tailgating spots?
Sounds like demand exceeds supply.
I'll let all you economists shout out what that means.....
i promise the majority of the people who keep tailgating are a few years away from having children. most of these are college students and the tailgating is ten times better than it used to be. If we win and bring decent teams to cajun field the rest will take care of itself. You will always have people who stay outside. I promise you even when tiger stadium has 90000 in it there are ten thousand outside still tailgating.Originally Posted by Damon
90% of those people would not have to buy a ticket anyway b/c they are students. You can't make people go to a football game! If we put a good team on the field and bring in teams that people have heard of people will go to the game. We should just be happy that more and more people are going out to the field eventually all those students will go to the game. maybe not now but we are laying the ground wotk for later. When these students get older and have kids they will still come to the field but will start going to the games.Originally Posted by USLJim
