According to Louisiana High School Athletic Association President Kenny Henderson, a head football coach also fill one of three positions.

"Either be a full time teacher, full time administrator, a full time athletic director or a combination of any of those three."

Trev Faulk, the Vikings newly hired head coach, is not assigned to any of these positions.

"We understood all LHSAA regulations and requirements we are following those to the letter of the law," says Assistant Superintendent Sandra Billeaudeau

Faulk has already passed part one of the Praxis exam and is preparing to take part two. If he passes, he will be temporaily certified and assigned to a full-time teaching position.

"We have every confidence that Mr. Faulk will become a certified teacher before the beginning of football season."

In the event Faulk doesn't pass part two of the Praxis, school officials say they have a backup plan.

"There will be an interim coach until he does what he needs to do."

If he doesn't pass, he can still serve as an assistant coach. Faulk has until the start of football season to meet the necessary state guidelines.
