Coach Cox was on KATC this morning with Brazda and said Flake was the best shooter he and Coach Shipley ever had.
Love him....use to come in my room and always punching on me ......just a great guy....I stuck my elbow out one time and almost broke his finger....I felt like a muscle man next that skinny thing!!!!,

Jerry Flake was the key guy on the teams which started our school towards being a factor in men's college basketball for many years. Mantle went from Flake to Winkler to Lamar to Toney to Graylin Warner to Kevin Brooks to Michael Allen to Lonnie Thomas to Brad Boyd to Tryen Johnson to LaRyan Gary. Lots of other great players and teams throughout history. I am sure some will say that someone else was the key guy for a certain period I listed. Flake is the guy who started it all. We have been down the last few years but maybe Elfrid Payton and Shawn Long will keep the legacy going.
