He used to ride his bicycle all over campus each day going from one class to another. Nice guy. A few months ago, I was playing blackjack at the casino with my Ragin Cajuns cap on. An elderly couple next to me asked if I had gone to UL and I told them I had. They were relatives of Jerry and we had a ball bringing back the memories.

........We lived on the same or close floors and got to be pretty good friends...he would stop by before games and wanted all the info...damn he was skinny.....glad to see he was the real deal——some years back he came for a reunion in the dome...said that he had won a money tourney with an entrance fee...think he won about $5k.....he could fill ‘er up!

Flake's no. 20 jersey is retired by Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns. He played for UL in the 1960s, but can still ball at age 73.

Yeah, I thought the same thing until I read the thread. Happy for Jerry tho! Watching that video of him balling at 73 was super cool! Makes me wonder how good he must’ve been in college! Is there any footage of him playing?
