Between the lines this past week had three women and one man. The man the current womens basketball coach at Mississippi State, the current womens basketball coach at Ellis Who. One angry old woman complaining about people like the Mississippi State Coach cheating women out of that position. Her big claim was that men AD are more comfortbable with men. She also found men got open ended questions on the interviews while womem were not and instead judged solely on their record. And one last women an all american, and WNBA great. I got none of thier names.

The man got a little upset with some of the venom coming out of two of the females. The Ellis Who coach was there because I guess they needed a fourth person. She added very little to the conversation. I would much rather have seen Pokey Chatman there explaining away women jealously bringing down her program and career. That is the Ellis Who coach I wanted up there.

You can be sure Brodhead would not have been a welcomed guest in that estrogen zone.

because what I gather is it's a law FORCING tax dollars to be spent on sports that operate in the red.... To keep them so some people don't get their feelings hurt? Flushing tax dollars down the toilet that could be used to enhance/improve programs that actually generate revenue?
We BORROWED 1.3 trillion dollars just to pay the bills last year.....

jumbo when you get down to it, the biggest money losers we have are football and men's basketball. that's true of the majority of schools around the country that aren't in AQ conferences. title ix gets blamed for a lot until reality comes into the picture.

Title IX is a liberal progressive power grab. Nothing more, nothing less. It is BS.

I disagree and have no problem with Title IX. HOWEVER it should never have come to that, it was designed to undo an entrenched wrong.

From 1901-1921 UL had a vibrant sports program for the Ladies who while they never went by the tag Bulldogs, had their own identity representing the school.

Then in 1922 Louisiana (SLI) joined the Women's Athletic Association and IMEDIATLY the women were banned from competing interscholastically. This detrimental organization was nation wide and the problem continued for 45 years until Judi Ford re-broke the barrier in Gymnastics.

If not for Title IX we still might not have a balanced sports program at UL, I just can’t see Authement starting one up on his own.
