Acadiana Business Owners Discuss Mission to France
Acadiana business owners met at LITE in Lafayette Thursday to discuss a mid-October Trade mission to France to grow their businesses.
Many business owners say this trip could open up a world of possibilities.
"We would love to make every effort to build bridges between Louisiana companies and French companies" said Consul General Jean-Claude Brunet.
Dozens of Acadiana business owners are hoping to do just that, build bridges and grow their company while on Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne's Mission to France this October.
"There is so much going on in France in the regions of research, development and innovation. Also, cultural connections between Louisiana and France can be a strong asset to bring business people together who want to expand their potential markets," said Brunet.
People like Chef Roy Lyons who has worked in more than forty countries is considering attending the mission to France to expand his season blends to a world-wide market.
"We have water, we have shrimp, we have all of that, but they have all that over there too. Learning how to cook it other ways and coming up with some other inventions it really is amazing," said Lyons.
Chef Roy and many others hope this trip will help them network with some of the largest multi-national corporations and strengthen the cultural connection between Louisiana and France.
Part of Lieutenant Governor Dardenne's trip is to sign new agreements on education and Codifil.
