UL Football TWO teams UL will never sneak up on

I have been registered but lurking for 4 years I love this web space I read it twice a day every day. Now I want to post something. There are two teams that always give UL their best game LSU Tigers and Texas Aggies. LSU Tigers because as afraid as they are to admit it 100-0 wins will never get them past being a rival. Texas Aggies because of what happened in 1996. No other school in the country got BCS schools grade A games for the first two weeks of the year so I don't read anything into 0-2 record because we will never be able to sneak up on those two schools.

Good point! I also think that UL's offense is of the type that will dominate teams at its own level but completely fall apart against teams with superior speed and talent. Against sunbelt teams, even if a few of those teams have played competitively against BCS schools, the spread option offense with serious speed and talent at QB and RB, as well as one of the top two OLs in the Sunbelt, will make all the difference. There is a fine line between 500+ yards offense and a collapse for this team and it depends on the other teams talent and speed on defense (if they have high levels of it, then Cajuns will stall). Also, even though Cajuns have ability to throw the rock, they have not done so for a couple of years so it is difficult to wing it around against BCS talented schools and hope for some big plays to stay close. Further, Cajuns defense is above average in sunbelt but way out of its league against BCS top teams. When Cajuns offense is not playing catch up against sunbelt teams (due to better defensive performance), Cajuns will have the ability to be more creative, patient and play to their strengths. This is not a good come from behind team, unless the opponent's defense is weak, as most sunbelt defenses are (as most sunbelt teams are weak in general).

Miss ST, Kentucky, Vanderbuilt, Army, Navy, Ohio, Kansas, Arkansas, Arizona, etc. these are the types that we should play for money games or Name games and win some of these for several years prior to stepping it up to the Alabama's of the world!!!

I just wish we could start to survive without money games all together. I love the way the schedule looks for the rest of the season and the next 3 games is how I believe the entire out of conference schedule should look like.

I agree. The DA this morning posted the stats, despite having to play against the A&M's, UL is near the top of the league in rushing.

Just think of what the ground attack will do against a SunBelt caliber defense.

    The sky hasn't fallen yet.

All of the above are good posts.

We need to stay positive. No one really expected us to win our first two games. They expected us to play better than we did, but not win. The bottom line is that realistically everyone on this site had us pencilled in at 0-2 and then winning the majority of the rest of our games. If we beat North Carolina A&T by a big margin (which we should) everyone will have their confidence back and be ready for conference play.

We will be fine. Keep the FAITH!!!!

I would also like to see us play colleges you listed but they would never pay us the money like SEC schools or Big XXII schools will.

I would like to see more WAC & CUSA Schools on our schedule and have a home and Home trade out. Each team keeping the gate except maybe $100,000.00 for expenses. The problem with that is no CUSA school will give us home and home except maybe Houston. They realize the attendance we bring to their stadium and it helps there attendance. As for Tulane, they are SCARED TO PLAY US, plain and simple. There pride knowing we will be them is getting in the way. We bring 15-20 K when we play them and we fill up our stadium also. In conclusion, WE NEED money because people aren't filling up Cajun Field, until then, we need these money games,"I HATE THAT TERM".

AS to when we play lsu again is not known but I don't care, I'd rather travel to Ole Miss or Alabama than lsu. At least Ole Miss , Alabama, and us have something in common. QUESS!!!!!

Tulane isn't afraid to play us, they just think they're too good to come to Lafayette and our admin disagrees.
