For the first time Police Chief Jim Craft speaks out against allegations made against the top brass at the police department.
Craft tells employees of the department he's disappointed that the actions of a few disgruntled officers are overshadowing the honor and integrity of the department. The letter was given by a source close to the investigation.
Craft says: " I believe that the dedication and determination of our officers and employees, even in the face of such false and public insult, will not deter us from our mission. We cannot and should not allow the self-serving attempts of a few, to soil our good name and reputation."
Craft describes how the use of secret recordings and what he calls half-truths and lies does not become the department. And the judicial system will weigh all information fairly before acting on the allegations.
