Whoever is making out the football schedules for the Cajuns should have his head examined. It is ridiculous schedule two teams which outclass the Cajuns
in talent to open the season back to back. Two blowout losses like that to start a season can almost ruin a teams confidence before it even has a chance to get going and anyone who says they thought the outcomes would be different is smoking rope.

It's not just the fact that the Cajuns are 0-2 but they have been humiliated
twice in the first two weekd of the season and for what?

The point is this. Why doesn't UL schedule some OOC teams early on which they have a realistic chance to compete against and possibly win a game or two before you play teams with such a huge talent advantage over the Cajuns? I can see playing a game here or there for monetary reasons but to start the season the way your administration has done really doesn't give UL much of a chance. Other than a paycheck, I see no point in this mentality and if all UL is in it for is a check then why not just play D1AA ball and become a powerhouse instead of being nothing more than a rent-a-win?

I know some of you will take offense here but I am not trying to be offensive at all, I am merely stating the obvious that doing this type of thing year-in & year-out is leading nowhere and getting there fast. I just don't get it.

I'm just soooooo glad we aren't playing McNeese this season. They beat somebody like 88-0 last night. Whew, we are so lucky.

I don't get this quote. Is that supposed to be a dig at McNeese or what?
Like it or not McNeese is a very well respected D1AA school and can actually play competitively against some lower level D1A schools such as the Sunbelt schools.

Of course it is. What does being outscored 96-10 tell you ?

No offense taken and you are correct. Right now I don't feel like we could break through a wet paper bag. As a fan I'm completely demoralized. I guess we can only take what we can get. I would be better if we had an easy 1-AA or 1-A school before the payday games.

Ask the players about playing La'State? Ask them about playing Tx A&M.

PSSSSST Next season we play Tennessee and USC but please don't spread it around. And, guess what -- McNeese St. U. Hope you can make the game.

I would be also. It's one thing not to move the ball against the first team D of A&M. But to only manage 17 yds passing against the second team D ? Unable to establish a ground game capable of running out the clock ?

Those are major problems for me to ignore and accept.

While I do not totally disagree with your synopsis I feel very strongly that you get better by playing better competition. Time will tell

You are exactly right...Just like Fresno State and Southern Miss. have the policy of playing anyone, anywhere, at anytime. Players love playing in these big games...its just disappointing and I believe hurts the players when they get beat like they did the last 2 weeks. I want this program to get to the point where teams don't want to schedule us because they know they are giving us big money and its not a given that they will win.

First of all, thanks for taking an interest in UL.

Now to your point. We would all love it if we could schedule more competitive OOC opponents, and perhaps even a few 1-AA opponents that we could really beat up on. It's not fun getting our butts kicked. But realistically, we don't have much choice. We have to schedule these games. As a Tiger fan, you have no idea how much us non-BCS schools struggle to compete. You guys have a budget that's somewhere around 45 million. We on the other hand have an 8 million dollar budget. So if we can pick up an extra million bucks you had better believe we will do it because we need all we can get our hands on. Unlike LSU, we don't have the luxury of having more money than we could ever need along with an athletic foundation throwing even more cash at us. That's why we do it and that's why nearly every other non-BCS conference does it.
