lsu coach made a good point. it's probably going to rain during game 2. So the pitcher probably would have only pitched 2-3 innings anyway. then long rain delay and he's done. So why not use him in the 12th, and a little bit at the beginning of game 2, since he was probably only going to pitch a little bit because of the rain anyway? interesting.

My question: why didn't you just pitch him in game 1? Like the 1st inning lol

Yeah they are! Went to the game yesterday, and thought they should have won in regulation. LSU did a terrific job of battling. Congrats to them. BTW, I did not wear red (or purple/yellow). It was hard to see SB wearing red with black trim and NOT cheer for them! Haha!

Man, they are a fun group of kids to watch. I know they are playing LSU and the tendency is to pull against LSU, but really, I'm not pulling against LSU as much as I'm pulling for Stony Brook. Hell, I remember playing Stony Brook at the Tigue a a few years ago.

Gausman in to pitch for LSU in the top of the 12th. Strange behavior from heavy favorites. We'll see if it pays off.

Stony Brook immediately loses to LSU 5-4 in 12, coming back to take Game 2 3-1. Stony Brook was a 4 seed in Miami regional, scoring 50 runs in 5 games. Their 63 RPI really did not tell their story very well.
