Really hard to take anything from this game. Are we on the level of Arkansas, which lost just as bad to USC, or some other level? Wash St, which lost big to Auburn? There is a great disparity between the top 10 and everyone else. I think the A&M game will provide a better barometer.

We didn't have a meltdown on special teams. The QB exchange with our new juco center was fairly clean. That's what I take from it. I expect to see what I saw late last season on both sides of the ball as we play in more competitive games.

I'm not surprised they went down there and got worked over - tough opening on the other side of the country in a hostile environment (I've been to Auburn - great setting). Hard to tell from a game like that (like your opener) how good a team is really going to be.

You probably didn't see the USC game, but Arkansas is ALOT better than they were the last time I saw them, in terms of skill and confidence, especially on defense. The crowd was pumped and the Hogs played tough. SC played conservatively and AR kept it to 16-7 at the half. They opened up the playbook a bit in the 3rd and we just wore them down with depth and defense.

I am looking forward to seeing how the Cajuns bounce back next time. Hopefully I'll be able to see it...

Not to mention the support of Cajun fans. It was an awesome feeling seeing the sea of red as the Cajuns took the field before kickoff.

My biggest positive was TS and the 80,000 obnoxious idiots in my rear view mirror.... Tx A&M in my front window is exciting. The fans there know the difference between passion for their team and... well you know....

From the game, I think I saw some good things... first was the defense... The tackling was crisp... Sure we loaded the box to stop the run but when we hit we locked up anf the backs went down... In the past I saw way too much poor tackling.... I also saw some good things on offesne believe it or not... LSUA&M's defense is soooo fast that even when plays opened up they were fast enough to close and stop us from anything significant. We wont see that sort of speed again... no where near it...

At the Sunbelt level our Defense will be very good and our offense as advertised... outstanding.. A very good year....

I caught some of the 4th quarter on Sirius after our game.

I have seen it mentioned already but I was very pleased with our tackling. Unlike in the last few years where I have grown to accept that our defense was going to miss tackles, now I know I don't need to accept it. They were wrapping up and knocking guys down which is good to see. Michael Adams has rubbed off on our other DB's to I noticed because Derek Keyes attacked the legs very similar to how Michael Adams does.
