Ragin’ Cajuns softball outfielder Christi Orgeron was named to the Lowe’s Senior CLASS All-America first team, announced Premier Sports Management on Saturday at the Women’s College World Series.
Orgeron was one of ten finalists for the award, which goes to senior student-athletes that have notable achievements in the community, classroom, character and competition.
The New Orleans, La. native led the nation with 94 RBI and finished her career at UL as the all-time RBI leader with 288, ranking her sixth in NCAA history. She ranked seventh in the country in home runs with 22 on the year and posted a .351 batting average. Her 70 career long balls are good for third in Ragin’ Cajun’s softball history. Orgeron also hit six grand slams this year and had nine in her career, both of which tied NCAA records.
