  1. Default Cajuns Contingent Headed Out to Compete in Summer Baseball

A group of 16 members from the 2012 Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team has begun to scatter across the country as the wooden-bat collegiate summer leagues get underway in the coming days.

Wow only one cajun on the squad... hmmmm.. wonder if the Hicks situation has anything to do with that.

Wonder why more UL guys aren't playing with them.

All contracts were signed in early fall, Tyler Frederick was committed to the Cane Cutters but decided not to return to school for his 5th year, after graduation. I'm sure others would have jumped on " staying home " for the summer but it just didn't workout.

I'm sure that exit meeting have taken place. Has anyone decided to transfer out or do we expect any to transfer in? I know we have a few spots that they are hoping to fill with some juco hitters.

An all star for the cane cutters that wouldn't/couldn't pitch in the all star game he made....

then not allowed to return for the 2nd half?

I can't get an exact number, but its somewhere around 5-7 players have left / transferred, after all the exit meetings.

WOW! Really. Any starters of players that have contributed significantly? That seems like alot, but maybe that's normal on a year in year out basis. But considering we only had 34 to start....another 6 or 7 seniors graduating....that's alot of holes to fill

Sorry guys ... actually there was NO drama with Hicks and the Cane Cutters last year.

He enjoyed playing for them but his main plan for the summer was (and is) to attend classes year round. He could not travel with the team and the only reason he missed the All-Star game (in Bryan/College Station) was because he'd have to miss too much school. He took the second half off to rest up a bit before fall ball started. Maybe the Cutters were disappointed because he missed so many games, but I never heard a word regarding their attitude toward Matty and he would never say a bad word about any. I do know when he did play - he rocked - and was fun to watch. This summer he's taking Physics2 & some kind of chemistry, maybe bio-chem? He's double majoring in Biology and Chemistry ... possibly pre-med???
Go Matty...momma needs a new sports car

If Mat is trouble I know for sure where he gets it from because his moma sure is trouble.

Luckily Matt only inherited my massive intellectual ability and incredible athletic prowess.
Anyone that knows him will tell you he definitely did not take after me in the partying personality department.
    Maybe that's a good thing
