Won't keep a single kid from going pro. Won't pass title IX, and makes them underpaid semi-pro players.

I do think that the additional two grands to each kid on a scholarship was a good proposal. Teams in Div II, III, and FCS voting against it may be the starw that pushes the major conferences to separate from the rest. I hope these other schools realize it is not to their advantage to step on Superman's cape, or pull the mask off the Old Lone Ranger, and approve the money.

I don't understand why the failure of the lower divisions (D1aa, DII, DIII, etc) to go along should result in the D1A midmajors who were agreeable being pushed aside because that is exactly what will happen if the 64 team 'superdivision" is created. D1A (all 120 programs) should go along with the stipend and the ncaa should change the rules to prohibit D1A programs from playing lower division schools including D1aa. Since they do not want to support the proposal they shouldn't be able to rely on the big payday from the "guarantee" game.

Last night on ESPN U one of the host was commenting on it only being fair to pay revenue producing players a stipend, and listed the reasons. Then out of the blue for no apparent reason on earth he says it may be a problem for teams like Louisiana Lafayette, and FAU. Huh? Where did that come from?

Three thousand dollars for the revenue producing sports would be a lot chaper thant two thousand for all athletes and we voted for that. He also made some low life comments about softball being a non revenue sport. Speak for your school pal, at UL it is in the top four.

I'm with you on that one. I actually don't like the cash concept in this for college athletes. I think it should be a charge card where the school sees the charges and the NCAA has audit rights. Food, clothing, gas, travel expenses, etc should be a reasonable student-athlete expense. I know much of that is covered... but this whole "opportunity" is not about covering essentials for a large number of the programs that are in favor of it. It is a way to put a small amount of cash in the hands of athletes so that the larger sums that materialize in the hands of the few special ones, will not be draw as much suspicion (as it does now).

Im guessing he did about a minute of research and found that we have one of the lowest budgets in country.
