Awesome grab, what position will he play at UL? Is he taking Charles Tillmans place?

Right, I just used Rivals.com to get their opinion on Jordan Jackson the athlete.

If I posted exactly how I found out out about Jordan Jackson I might never be given another recruiting morsel. I will say this I am no "BigRagoo" or "Guru" I'm just a fan who listens to the radio.

One of my favorite stations is ESPN 1410 in Alexandria, I listen to it every night.

There is a great link to last years Hula bowl. This is the game that Charles Tillman is currently practicing for.

  3. UL Football Jordan Jackson

The kid is definitely a WR in college. His big play ability and height make him indispensible on offense. He doesn't really fit the mold of a safety in our defense and doesn't really have the hips for corner, so expect to see him at WR after a prop year.

    UL Football Recruiting News 1/29/03

A friend of mine passed on the following information: Desi Steib is probably 50-50, UL and La Tech. We might be able to steal the WR at Bastrop, teamate of Tre Green, from Ark State if we get him to visit this weekend. Also feel good about Lamar Morgan. We lost out on Jonathon Carey (DT from Dallas) to Rice. Also feel good about the JUCO DE Travis Bass, we should know something by Thursday. If we fall through on some kids and have some scholarships left, look for Bustle to still try to bring in some JUCO kids in May to plug some holes at OT.

UL Football Man, I can't WAIT until next week!!!

If Coach Bustle gets this entire class signed, it would have to be far and away the BEST recruiting class this University has EVER seen!!!

Desi Steib to Minnesota. He just visited there this weekend. Same deal as McCray. The kid was torn between UL and La Tech. Heart said go to La Tech, head said go to UL. Took the visit to Minn, and facilities did the rest.
Hear that Lamar Morgan committed to Ga Tech on Monday after his visit, but then committed to us on Tuesday. Don't really know what's the deal with him. Think that his dad wants him to come here.

    From the Advocate
CAJUNS' LIST GROWS TO 18: The University of Louisiana at Lafayette's commitment grew this week with pledges from a state high school standout and a junior college lineman.

Bunkie wide receiver/defensive back Jordan Jackson (6-6, 195) chose UL over Louisiana Tech. Offensive lineman Darwin Laidley (6-6, 285) of Compton (Calif.) College gave the Ragin' Cajuns a total of 18 commitments.

Jordan, rated the nation's No. 30 athlete by Rivals.com, was a three-time All-District 3-3A selection at free safety and Class 3A defensive MVP as a junior.

"They did a great job of recruiting Jordan," Bunkie coach Greg Hudson said. "And I think he and family really appreciated the interest they showed in him."

Jackson caught 13 passes for 248 yards and five touchdowns in Bunkie's run-oriented Wing-T offense. He also carried 18 times for 315 yards and four touchdowns.

Hudson said Jackson has his core grades but needs a test score.

Jackson had 175 career tackles and 22 interceptions, returning six of those for touchdowns, to earn a third-straight berth on the Class 3A All-State team.

I know there is no choice since D1 mandates a school maintains a certain number of scholarships, and then says you can only sign so many in a year. But has UL ever gone this deep in the juco ranks?

  11. UL Football Lamar Morgan

Anyone else hear that Lamar Morgan committed to UL?

The big ragoo hears that he committed to Ga Tech on Monday, or said he was 80% sure he would. Then Tuesday night, he committed to UL, and reaffirmed his commitment to UL today.

There is a short note on the Robe interview thread that says Lamar Morgan committed to UL.
