Thread: The Book: 2003 Louisiana's Recruiting

  1. UL Football recruits this weekend

    1) Levi DeJohnette (spelling?) WR-Bastrop
    2) a WR from Miss HS
    3) JUCO DE from CA
    4) Michael Adams CB-Dallas Kimball
    5) Dwaine Bannister QB-John Ehret
    6) Clay Rudick DL-Lafayette
    7) OL from Shreveport

Not sure if all of these kids will be offered this weekend. Imagine that the JUCO DE, Bannister, both WRs and Michael Adams will be offered. The OL will probably asked to walk on, unless something has fallen through with one of our OL commitments. Clay Rudick is a local kid who would be a great walk on player and would probably end up on scholarship after a year or two. That's all the big ragoo could scrape together. Info is getting harder to come by now that signing day is getting close and people are getting nervous.

    UL Football

I was stuck on the I-10 bridge westbound near Butte La Rose I was able to pick up a Lafayette High game.
One of the Lions few wins.
Rudick scored a defensive TD and was all over the place. they said on the air that he was the brother of a current Cajun and more play like tonight. he may join him.

His brother went into the hospital the next night.

    UL Football 2003 Walk Ons

This University has a history of contributions from walk-ons. [e.g. Josh Joerge and Harold Nash]

I know several kids are asked to walk-on. Do we have any such players in this year's crop, or is that something we won't know about until after the Spring?

    Thanks!

I don't know names, but I know for a fact that several recruits that hoped for scholarships, have been asked to walk on.

From what I hear, Bustle has a prefered walk-on system where effort and hard work translate into awarding scholarships down the road.

Several walk-ons from the past were recently awarded scholarships.

Unfortuantly these highly productive walk-ons will not show up on the recruiting service rankings when they guage how well this class really is.

Fortuantly these highly productive walk-ons will show up on the field when they guage how well coach Bustle is doing overall.
