Gabriele Bridges named as Rebel assistant softball coach

The Riverside softball dugout will be host to a reunion next season of teacher and star pupil — and its coaching staff to a whole lot of championship rings.

The Rebels officially hired former John Curtis standout Gabriele Bridges Tuesday morning to join the varsity softball coaching staff, reuniting her with head softball coach Kristy Hebert, who coached Bridges at Curtis.

Riverside Academy is another bastion of River Parish education and athletic power. The folks in St John Parish long ago gave up on the state schools and we have multiple private schools to fill the gap. She will do well there.
