Lancaster becomes eighth Cajuns football committment

LAFAYETTE - Josh Lancaster couldn't put a finger on exactly why he gave UL Lafayette head football coach Rickey Bustle a commitment to sign with his program over the past weekend.

He just knew it was the right thing to do.

"Something seemed to click when I came down there," Lancaster said Tuesday. "I felt comfortable with the coaches and got along with everybody. It just felt right."

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker, a preseason All-State selection out of Heritage High in Colleyville, Texas, became the Ragin' Cajuns' eighth verbal commitment of this recruiting season.

Lancaster was tabbed by Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine prior to the 2002 season as an All-State pick, after a junior year in which he recorded 109 tackles including five sacks, four fumble recoveries and one interception.
