I liked Pierce as well....A lot. From what we've heard about Reed, he is the real deal but that is all we have to go by....Word. Nobody has seen this kid play a down in any significant scrimmage or game and he has already become something of an injury concern. There is no way that Carter will be an every down back and so we have to get production from the group. This is still an area of concern, at least when considering quality depth.

While Reed hasn't played a down in a FBS college football game, he has shown what he can do last fall. He may be the best all-around back on the roster and that praise comes from two offensive coaches. I've seen him in several scrimmages last fall, and looked very good at times. He weighed in a 198-pounds during spring, so he is not small by any means. Carter, Harris, Pierce and Reed give the Cajuns a good stable of backs. I would like to see Jackson healthy to give the Cajuns another big back option. Reed's injury was not football related, but injured lifting weights and Pierce had a slight concussion after one of the spring scrimmages, but played in the spring game. Jackson's injury was a sprained ACL, so he should be fine this summer.

Carter will get special packages for his talents, while Reed and Pierce will run out of the regular sets like Harris. One possible solution for a big back could be Jaylen Nixon at 6-2,230 but I hear Coach Stewart wants in on the defensive side of the ball. But Nixon ran a 4.5 this spring and I would love to see him on the offensive side of the ball in the "Redzone offense" in the gun or at power back like Harris. We will see what happens with him this fall.

Harris is an every down back. Using him at H-back would be a waste

If he is the coaches have not heard it. He would need a release and that has not happened according to my sources.

T, no release, does not go to McNutt U, then he is available for 2013? Release and he gets to come here this year?

It's my understanding he can come now and be available in 2013. Just can't be on scholarship this upcoming school year.

He wouldn't be on scholly either way correct? If he is not released he has to sit out a year if he is released and in best case he gets a grey shirt doesn't he still sit out the season.
