Thread: Basketball Transfer?

  1. #1

    Default Basketball Transfer?

A month or so ago it was stated that we might be getting a transfer from Houston. The name that most people kept mentioning was Corey Bloom. Well in my Louisiana History class the teacher is calling roll and I hear the name Corey Bloom which wouldn't have meant much other than the fact that this guy is about 6'6. So I wanted to find out if we had indeed got the transfer or not?

    BOP any news on this?

The plot thickens. Here's the link to UHH basketball and there is no Corey Bloom on their 2006 roster but he was on their 2005 roster.
    Hmmmm.......

I wanted to talk to the guy but I sit on the opposite end of the room so I couldn't really yell from across the class.

    Corey Bloom info:
Rated as one of the top five shooting guards available this spring (2005) by Future Stars, Bloom comes to Houston after leading Brother Martin High School in New Orleans to back to back Louisiana Class 5A state championships and a Number-Four national ranking in The USA Today. Bloom, who averaged 15.6 points per game as a senior, scored 21 points to lead Brother Martin to a 86-70 victory over Thibodeaux in the state championship game after netting 22 points in the semifinals and 26 in a quarterfinal game. He chose to sign with Houston after being recruited by Rice, Air Force, Dayton, Southern Miss, Tulane and New Orleans.

It looks like he didn't get much PT, 1.8 min/game. Against Rice he scored 11 in 14 minutes and against Florida Tech he scored 13 in 17 minutes. He was 2 for 3 from 3pt against LSU in Houston's win against the Tigers.

"I want to leave here with a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. When I was in high school they hadn’t won a championship in 30 years and I was one of the key figures in bringing them back. I feel Houston has had an amazing history in basketball before I got here. I would like to contribute and bring them back to where Houston basketball once was and win a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP." - Corey Bloom
