The headline writer said that, not the player. She said they are almost unbeatable at home. Their home record is about the same as their road record so I guess they are almost unbeatable anywhere in the known universe.

They are definetely feeling the pressure of playing at home for a trip to the WCWS as defending champs and to a team that beat them 9-2. The pressure is on ASU, not UL.

Good point. She didn't actually say that - I got "over-excited."

Syracuse didn't think they were "almost" unbeatable at home.

I think she's trying to convince herself of that.

Man we still got 8 hours till this thing? Glad it's today and not Saturday...

That writer might want to try a Louisiana snowball because there is no chance in hell the revenge dish got served cold tonight. They probably used to sno cones with chunk crushed ice instead of shaved so what do they know about cold dishes.

This late at night/early in the morning, this becomes funny on so many levels.

Listen for that epic sentence from Jennie Finch in the 6th, when she sets a Super Regional record with 5 cliches in a single sentence. Awe-inspiring.

Edited to add: My bad. I think it was the top of the 7th, when we went from 3 to 4 runs. Right before, she said something ridiculous like "they only have 3 runs," as if zero was an onslaught of offensive production. Then she rattled off a sentence with 5 cliches. It was amazing. Color commentary at the highest level.

I listened to the commentary of Jennie Finch for about 2 1/3 innings, then I put it on mute and turned on Radiopup for Stevie P. Listening to Finch was like listening to that sports guy working for the TV station that was building up a segment so terribly just to say "Boom goes the dynamite". There was a point there when she kept babbling on about the split grip. I have 6 lumps on my forehead for the 6 times I slammed my head into the desk...

I feel the same way. I wish she was ugly.

You get extra points for marrying someone from Louisiana.
