Thread: Lotief's Are The Best Coaches

  1. UL Softball Lotief's Are The Best Coaches

Here is a little something to chew on. According to Stevie P the only big time recruit on the Cajun squad was Ashley Brignac. Many our other stars wanted to be loved by other schools, schools not nearly as good in softball, LTU, Texas Tech, North Texas. In a sense they settled for UL. The Mississippi players also had some mid major interest but picked UL accounting for their clear intelligence.

So I contend with very limited budget for recruiting, limited national television exposure, limited assistants, team managers how do they year after year confound the powers of NCAA softball? Simply put they are the best. They either are the best because they can identify talent that needs only coaching, and all that goes with that. On the other hand if the young ladies are correctly labled as lacking in elite talent, which I do not believe at all, they do the best job of coaching them up to elite status in the NCAA.

Any way we look at it UL has the best head coaches in the USA. Now is the time to make sure they do not burn out, we need, you and I to send them some additonal financial support. I will be making the small doantion to the RCAF, big to me, for them.

They need money for Joy Webre-LeBlanc to be properly compensated, improve their salaries, managers to do things poor Michael Lotief is doing that he should not be doing, another coach, and funds to attend these tournaments that build RPI.

I want the BEST coaches in the USA not to burn out, or leave. Let us all make small gestures, really any amount, to make sure they know how much they both mean to us.

    Very good post.

My gesture is season tickets for next year and an RCAF contribution for softball.

If I donate to the general fund, does some of this go to softball?

No you must specify that you want the donation to go to softball. Also you will not get credit for annual fund giving. This is typical in fundraising.

If you want money to go directly to a certain program it must be earmarked for that program. The general fund this past season was mostly spent on covering the money that T joe cut from athletics.

Doubling my season tickets for next year and working up a plan to have my former employer make a matching contribution to the RCAF.

The coaching job (transition job) Michael Lotief did going from a HR hitting club to a team of slappers to a balanced slapper/long ball hiiting squad has been nothing short of amazing.

As far as dedicated funding is concerned, I just hope the general funding that is automatically in the softball straw doesn't get pushed out the other end and back into the general fund by dedicated softball donations.

Any dedicated softball donations should serve to increase the softball budget above an beyond what softball was earmarked have automatically.

I also think any above the yearly average in softball attandance and the funds that came with that increase should be funneled back into the softball kittty.

Turb, they are several people working on getting an answer to your question. You are not the only one to bring that specific question up. Let's see what answer comes down; in any case Cajun Express post is dead on.
