    Default CBS Sportsline Bowl Predictions

We're not on there. Troy for NOLA Bowl as Sunbelt #1, and ASU as #2 for GoDaddy.

I think we learned last year that 6 wins will get us back to the New Orleans Bowl regardless of where we finish in the conference.

When it comes to the Sun Belt Conference the national outlets truly don't have a clue.

And lol at Troy finishing first next year. They really don't have a clue.

That might not be true. I thought I remembered the N.O. Bowl has to agree to take the champ at least once in a 2 year period. I believe the champ's automatcially going to N.O. this time. If we're not the champs, we may not get one of those 2 Bowls.

It was my understanding that it was twice in a 4 year period which would mean they would take us next year as well. But I could be wrong.

I think any regional Bowl will give us serious consideration. It's all about attendance and TV. If the other choices have similar TV appeal I believe it will come down to the number of fans we would bring.

Of course we know we can't compete with NIU and the Chicago market.

Why would you lol, when all they needed was a semblence of a running game? They had zero running game, and I fell pretty sure they addressed it in recruiting by transfers, and juco personel. I for one am not writing off Troy who has a very long history of winning a lot, and one bad year because they could not run the ball.

I am not about to cede the title to ASU, WKU, FIU, or Troy. Hud has had two great classes, and is a superior preperation, and game day coach.

It angers me that these clueless writers automatically assume Troy will ne number one. They were not good last year and ASU fell apart when their coach bailed on them when they needed him the most. So call us the underdog again and we'll just prove them all wrong.....again.

Not good. We need all the preseason publicity we can get. We want to be at a point where we are the #1 school for a bowl game, regardless of the research they do or don't do on the SBC. We want to be the first school thought of when anyone mentions the Sun Belt Conference. We need to have high expectations every year of winning the conference and a bowl bid and we want all of the media to think UL first in the SBC.

All of this is correct. But we need to string together seasons like last year. We've had one good year. Why do we expect everyone from MY to LA to know or even give a crap who we are? Patience. It'll come.

It may have felt like the Super Bowl (and I know, because I was there, collapsed in my chair in tears), but it wasn't. Let's not get caught up in who hasn't noticed how great we are yet. Let's be great, year in and year out.

That's why everyone thinks Troy will be on top. They had one bad year following a string of good ones. That's where we want to be, but one good year doesn't get us there.

My point is that the comment was "good" that we hadn't been picked for a bowl game like we are going to sneak up on teams again this year. I know its only been one year, but it is always better to have positive preseason pub.
