I think any regional Bowl will give us serious consideration. It's all about attendance and TV. If the other choices have similar TV appeal I believe it will come down to the number of fans we would bring.

My point is that the comment was "good" that we hadn't been picked for a bowl game like we are going to sneak up on teams again this year. I know its only been one year, but it is always better to have positive preseason pub.

Let me clarify what I meant by "good." Good, because they never get their predictions right. Which probably means we'll be in a bowl game.

Not good. We need all the preseason publicity we can get. We want to be at a point where we are the #1 school for a bowl game, regardless of the research they do or don't do on the SBC. We want to be the first school thought of when anyone mentions the Sun Belt Conference. We need to have high expectations every year of winning the conference and a bowl bid and we want all of the media to think UL first in the SBC.

It was my understanding that it was twice in a 4 year period which would mean they would take us next year as well. But I could be wrong.

That is correct from what Jay Walker was stating on the radio last year leading up to the decision of the bowl picks. There are two years left of the four that would allow us attend the New Orleans Bowl twice more if we would win the Sun Belt and even if we did not and were bowl eligible.

I think we learned last year that 6 wins will get us back to the New Orleans Bowl regardless of where we finish in the conference.

When it comes to the Sun Belt Conference the national outlets truly don't have a clue.

And lol at Troy finishing first next year. They really don't have a clue.
