Why do people say and believe this? No, you do not have to beat them all. Not even close. Just ask LSU, who will probably get to the WCWS without playing a single team as good as 3 of the ones that stood in our path (ASU, Stanford and Baylor).

You do not have to "beat them all" to win the National Championship. Otherwise, why seed at all? Let's just draw out of a hat at random. So what if Cal, Alabama, ASU and Louisiana all get into a regional together? You have to beat them all, right?

I honestly don't think there's a team left in this tournament that's better than the Cajuns. Doesn't mean we'll win the whole thing. But who can match this team's pitching and firepower?

Cal is the only team I think can carry the label of sure thing this year thus far. Cajuns have a shot against all of the rest in my opinion should they get by ASU.

The bottom line is, if the goal is to be National Champs, then you have to beat them all at some point, so does it matter when you beat them? We will do what we have done all season, and play hard til the end. If you lose in the Supers or lose 2 in the WCWS, you still do not accomplish the ultimate goal.

It absolutely matters who you play. People always talk about perception. Do you truly believe that qualifying for, and playing in the WCWS on national tv wouldn't help with this program? And especially recruiting? Sure, the ultimate goal is to win the national title, but again, do you believe that it doesn't matter how tough the task is to even get a chance to attain that goal? Either Hofstra or S. Florida will be in the WCWS with a chance to win it all. Either the Cajuns or Arizona St. will not. And that's a travesty.
