I'm wondering if he could have been the person who kidnapped and killed the girls in the Jennings area.

He was in jail during some of the Jeff Davis killings. Also.all the girls killed by the Jeff Davis killer were women of ill repute, and all bodies were found, and meant to be found. No connection.

This has been a terrible terrible situation for the Shunick family and I feel very sorry for them. You really have to give credit to all the volunteers, investigators, Police agencies and DA in this case. On May 19th 2012 nobody knew anything about what happened, to August 17, 2012 when everybody knew everything and the perpetrator in Angola for the rest of his life is quite an accomplishment. A good job on their part. Unfortunately a job that nobody wanted to do and hopefully never has do do again.

Mickey Shunick simply has to be remembered as a HERO/victim.

Because she fought like the dickens she created a situation that solved her murder and led to conviction in less than 3 months.

Focus on her heroics solved another murder and led to another conviction.

She is helping solve another murder in Texas.

She saved countless lives.

Mickey Shunick is a hero by every conceivable definition.

I wish I had known her.

Her unconquerable spirit is an inspiration to all of us. I don't know if she was a fan or not, but as she was a student of the University, she will always be a Ragin Cajun. Would love to see a MS helmet sticker in football as well as uniform MS patches in all of the other sports this year The university would be smart to dedicate some sort of honorary item (tree, building, street,etc) or maybe a section of university grounds to her memory.

She gave everything she had in fighting back, as have countless friends and strangers, many of them Ragin Cajuns, did in searching for her. I think it would be in poor taste for the university to not do anything to honor her and the many who searched and prayed for her. When I read how she fought back, I thought about the Jim Valvano ESPY awards speech, that cancer can take everything away but his spirit.Indeed, Micky's spirit remains unconquerable.She never let go of her rope!
